ZAGREB, Aug 14 (Hina) - The Croatian ministry of transport,
communications and maritime affairs and the Austrian "Mannesmann"
company signed an agreement on reconstruction of Dubrovnik
airport on Thursday.
According to the treaty, 16.8 million German marks should
be invested in renovation of the airport of Cilipi which should
reach the level of services of western European airports until
next summer.
After it qualified at an international bid, the Austrian
company has been chosen thanks to its most favourable financial
offer and its reputation it acquired in construction and
equipment of airports in Budapest and Warsaw.
Transport Minister Zeljko Luzavec said that renovation of
the airport in Dubrovnik would be a big step forward in
connection of this southern Croatian city with the rest of the
country and with Europe.
