ILOK COMPANIES TO BE REINTEGRATED INTO CRO ECONOMY BY END OF AUG

AUG $ ILOK, Aug 8 (Hina) - Ilok businessmen on Friday held a meeting with representatives of the Croatian Privatization Fund and Ilok city authorities, at which they agreed to establish new supervisory boards and appoint new administrations in Ilok's companies "Agrokomerc", "Razvitak", "Iteks" and "Ilokturist" by the end of the month, in order to start their reintegration into Croatia's economic system and adjustment to market business. Ilok is in the Danube region of eastern Croatia. The reintegration of Ilok's economy was late due to Serb obstruction, said Zvonimir Rac, the head of the Croatian Privatization Fund's branch office in Vinkovci. According to Rac, the first thing to do was to estimate the real value of the mentioned companies, which was until now made impossible by local Serbs, and then start with their privatization and inclusion in market courses. The companies would no longer employ workers only so they could have jobs, Rac said, adding the issue of redundant labour would be settled in line with the Labour Act. Rac pointed out in Ilok there were parts of "Vupik" and "Borovo", two already reintegrated companies. But, according to Ivan Juros, a member of Ilok's Economy Authorities, local Serbs denied access to Vupik's wine-cellars in Ilok, which made preliminary work for the processing of this year's grape harvest impossible. As Juros pointed out, there were more than 850 hectares of vineyards (each hectare worth USD 30,000) in the Ilok area going to waste. (hina) ha 081825 MET aug 97
