Both ministers stressed that the agreement created new
possibilities for cooperation as well as for the recognition of
education levels in Central Europe.
Speaking at a press conference after the signing of the agreement,
Kostovic stressed the importance of a joint expert analysis in the areas
of mutual interest, as well as the importance of cooperation in
establishing new joint scientific and innovation centres.
Today's talks between Kostovic and Magyar also tackled the granting
of scholarships in priority areas.
During his stay in Budapest, Kostovic also visited the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences, where he participated in talks on cooperation
between the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Croatian Academy of
Arts and Sciences and a Hungarian model of financing scientific and
university institutions.
During their visit to the Institute for Anatomy of the Medical
School, Kostovic and his associates inquired about studies in foreign
languages, since the Croatian universities are considering that option.
Hungary has three medical schools with lectures in English and one with
lectures in German. Classes at the four schools are attended by 1,000
foreign and 150 Hungarian students.
In the afternoon, the Croatian delegation visited the Croatian
Embassy in Budapest where it held talks with the Croatian Ambassador
Zdenko Skrabalo and his associates.
