CONFERENCE ON ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL SCIENCE IN THE WORLD BEGINS IN Z AGREB

AGREB ZAGREB, June 30 (Hina) - The current state of economic and financial science in the world is the topic of a two-day conference, organized by the Croatian Banking and Security Institute and the Columbia University from the United States, which began at the Zagreb University of Economy on Monday. The conference has been organized for representatives of Croatian banks' administrations and Faculty of Economy students, and features lectures by renowned U.S. professors and economy experts Robert Mundell, Kyle Bagwell, Edmund Phelps and Xavier Sala-i- Martin. The conference was the first step towards cooperation between the Zagreb Faculty of Philosophy and the Columbia University, said professors Pero Jurkovic and Mate Babic, expressing hope the cooperation would develop in the future. Mundell, one of the world's best economists according to Babic, today spoke among else about models of the international monetary system. The conference also focused on the trade agreements' theory, unemployment, the labour force market and the rise of technology.
