JOINT CROATIAN-YUGOSLAV COMMISSION DISCUSSES PROPERTY ISSUES

BELGRADE, June 13 (Hina) - The joint Croatian-Yugoslav commission in charge of implementing an agreement on the normalisation of relations between Croatia and Yugoslavia held its third session in Belgrade on Friday to discuss property issues. The session was chaired by the head of the Yugoslav delegation, Assistant Justice Minister Radivoj Rajakovic. The Croatian delegation was led by the head of the government office for succession issues, Bozo Marendic. The meeting focused on property exchanges between citizens of Croatia and Yugoslavia and the restitution of property on the territory of the other state by observing the principle of guaranteeing ownership rights, according to a statement released after the session. It was particularly emphasised that all citizens have to be free to use their property as they wished. Since refugees and displaced persons expect prompt replies to their questions, the two delegations agreed to exchange information on claims by injured parties and on ways they can exercise their property rights. The commission drew up an agenda for its fourth meeting which is to be held in Zagreb in the first half of July, the statement said. (hina) vm jn 131901 MET jun 97
