Expressing satisfaction with what had been done concerning the
return of Serb refugees in the area of Pakrac, Klein said that Pakrac
could serve as an example of making the program on return of refugees
operational.
After the military and police operation 'Flash', some 1,800 Serbs
remained in their homes in the areas of Pakrac and Lipik, Pakrac mayor
Spancic said. In the past two years, some 300 Serbs returned to the
area.
Some 100 Serbs remained in the area of Okucani after the operation
'Flash' and some 200 returned later, Okucani mayor Japundzic said.
The two mayors informed Klein about a growing number of requests
for return filed by Serb refugees from western Slavonia.
