SEMINAR ON PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AGAINST MINES HELD IN VUKOVAR

VUKOVAR, June 6 (Hina) - The Croatian Education Ministry and the UNICEF, on Friday organised a seminar in Vukovar on the protection of children against mines. The event that gathered about thirty teachers and kindergarten teachers from the UNTAES-controlled parts of Vukovar-Sirmium County, is part of a national programme "Children, Be Cautious! Protect Yourselves from Explosive Devices and Arms!" The programme's co-ordinator, and a Ministry aide, Marija Ivankovic, said the programme was of the national importance and it intended to include all kindergarten kids and primary school children in Croatia. It is supported by the UNICEF, and seminars have been held so far in Karlovac, Knin and Osijek for teachers in the war-ravaged areas and in Opatija for teachers from other Croatian areas.
