Speaking about Croatia's position in the world, Gotovac said that
'the signing of the Erdut and Dayton agreements with Yugoslavia has
brought Croatia into an unfavourable position so we have now to fulfil
the obligations we are really not keen on fulfilling'.
Gotovac accused the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of wanting to
eliminate the centrist parties and to secure a two-party system.
That would be a great threat, 'as the other party would be the
Social-Democratic Party (SDP), which would only be used as a scapegoat
and accused of being a communist party by the HDZ, and that would enable
the HDZ to secure complete rule'.
