VINKOVCI, 26 March (Hina) - The village of Nijemci, one of the five villages in the 'Srijem triangle', in the southern part of the Croatian Danubian area, which the U.N. administration transferred to the Croatian authority in November
last year, was integrated into the Croatian Power Industry (HEP) system on Wednesday.

Parliament representative Djuro Perica turned on the switch of an
electric light unit in the presence of a HEP representative in the
government coordination of public companies, Ivan Mravak, and municipal
representatives from Vinkovci and Nijemci. #L#
The HEP's investment includes five km of overhead 20 kilowatt
transmission line, four km of transmission cable, four 20/04 kilowatt
transformer stations, 10 km of overhead and cable net and 50 electric bulbs
for public lighting system. The investment is worth 4,5 million kuna.
On the same day, Parliament representative Perica and the head of
UNTAES civil affairs department Gerard Fischer opened an Croatian Oil
Industry (INA) petrol station in the centre of the village. INA had invested
400,000 kuna into the petrol station which is the third of that kind in the
Croatian Danubian area.
Fischer announced the opening of other petrol stations in the area.
The introduction of Croatian public companies in the Croatian Danubian
area would contribute to speeding up the process of peaceful reintegration,
as well as to the economic development of the area, Perica said.
