ZAGREB, March 25 (Hina) - The establishing of principles for drafting a
general tax law in order to complete the tax reform in Croatia is the
subject of a two-day seminar which opened in Zagreb on Tuesday.
The seminar, organized by the Croatian Ministry of Finance and the
German government office in charge of providing expert assistance to other
countries, was opened by Finance Minister Bozo Prka.
Prka pointed out the very good cooperation with the German Ministry
for Economic Cooperation over the last three years in building a new tax
system in Croatia.
Noting that the tax reform had begun four years ago, Croatian Tax
Authority Director Mate Perkovic said that the first part of the tax reform
would be finished when the Value Added Tax Act took effect on January 1 next
year and that the overall reform would be completed after the adoption of a
General Tax Act, which might be sent to Parliament later this year.
