ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) - Croatian Economy Minister Davor Stern and deputy general director of the IAEA nuclear security, Zygmund Domaratzki, on Monday signed a Revised Additional Agreement on technical help from the International
Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to Croatia, who has been a member of this agency since 1993.
ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) - Croatian Economy Minister Davor Stern and
deputy general director of the IAEA nuclear security, Zygmund
Domaratzki, on Monday signed a Revised Additional Agreement on
technical help from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
to Croatia, who has been a member of this agency since 1993. #L#
The agreement established basic preconditions under which IAEA
would provide help to Croatia for a peaceful usage of nuclear
energy, especially in maintaining safety standards and measures
which Croatia has to use for the protection of people and the
environment.
The agreement also establishes measures for the physical
protection of nuclear material from being stolen or misused.
Under the agreement, IAEA is to set aside US$ 600,000 for
technical help for Croatia.
