WARSAW, March 18 (Hina) - The Foreign Ministers of Poland and
Croatia, Dariusz Rosati and Mate Granic, met in Warsaw on Tuesday.
Rosati told reporters after the talks that Poland would
support Croatia in its efforts to enter European structures.
Granic said that the two countries would continue a joint
dialogue on security issues and the expansion of NATO, of which
both countries would like to become members.
Granic said that they discussed the political situation in
southern and southeastern Europe, and the relations between the two
countries, which he described as very good.
Granic announced that Poland would participate in a Zagreb
trade fair this autumn as a guest partner, and that Polish
President Alexander Kwasniewski was expected to visit Croatia later
this year.
According to well-informed sources, Poland and Croatia could
sign a free trade agreement in September, during the Zagreb trade
fair. Thus Poland would be the first member of the Central European
Free Trade Association (CEFTA) to sign such a bilateral agreement
with Croatia.
Later on, Granic met for talks with the Polish Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of the State Treasury, Miroslaw Pietrewiez.
