Granic informed Ghidi about the process of peaceful reintegration of
the Croatian Danubian area and about preparations for the successful holding
of elections in the region, as well as about Croatian strategic goals at the
level of foreign affairs. Granic especially stressed Croatia's orientation,
as a central European country, towards getting closer to Euro-Atlantic
political, economic and security integrations.
Granic thanked Ghidi for the help which arrived in Croatia through the
EU Humanitarian Office in the last six years, and expressed hope that the
European Union would also provide help for the reconstruction of areas
damaged by war, especially the Croatian Danube river region, the statement
said.
