ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Penic
met in Zagreb on Thursday with the State Secretary of the
Bavarian Interior Ministry, Hermann Regensburger, to discuss the
development of police cooperation.
Penic described the cooperation between the two police
forces as very good, stressing that he expected that it would
contribute to the full safety of German tourists in Croatia.
Regensburger said that the Bavarians considered Croatia as a
very safe country, noting that safety was a very important factor
in selecting a potential tourist destination.
Expressing hope that Croatian tourism would flourish again
soon, Regensburger said that he and his family had spent their
holidays in Croatia twenty times.
Regensburger said that he expected that the Hanns-Seidel
Foundation, which is to open in Zagreb later in the day, would be
a basis for further development of cooperation between the two
police forces.
The Zagreb office of the Bavarian Christian-Social Union
(CSU) foundation will coordinate projects between the Bavarian
and Croatian border police.
