ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - The transport ministry delegations of Croatia and
Slovakia met in Zagreb on Thursday to discuss the promotion of cooperation
in river and combined transport.
The delegations, headed by Croatian Transport Ministry Secretary Mijo
Petek and Slovakian Assistant Transport Minister Emil Mitka, also negotiated
an agreement on inland navigation.
"Both countries are interested in developing cooperation in river,
combined and maritime transport, and Slovakia is particularly interested in
the use of the (northern Adriatic) port of Rijeka," Petek told reporters
after the talks.
The two countries were expected to sign the inland navigation
agreement in three months, Petek added.
Mitka said that the agreement would be of great significance because
Slovakia and Croatia had not cooperated in the area of navigation.
