ZAGREB, Mar 2 (Hina) - Upon arriving from a several-day visit to China,
where he was invited by Chinese Public Security Minister Tao Siju, Croatian
Interior Minister Ivan Penic expressed satisfaction with the visit.
Penic and his collaborators signed an agreement on cooperation between
Zagreb and Beijing in fighting organized international crime, fighting
international terrorism and fighting illegal drug trafficking. "We have a
large exchange of commodities with China - worth about half a million
dollars - and these agreements will contribute to a secure implementation of
our trade", Penic told reporters at the Zagreb Pleso airport.
While in Beijing the Croatian Interior Ministry delegation, headed by
Penic, was also received by state advisor and secretary general at the
Chinese State Council, Lou Gan. The Chinese officials expressed support for
the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area, Penic said.
Upon leaving China, he invited Siju to visit Croatia, which the Public
Security Minister accepted with pleasure.
