TRAVNIK, Feb 19 (Hina) - Prefect and Deputy Prefect of Central
Bosnian Canton, Ivan Saric and Adnan Terzic, on Wednesday voiced
concern about deteriorated security situation in the area.
The gravest event happened on February 15 when unidentified
persons killed a 72-year old Croat, Fabijan Babic, in the Travnik
outskirts of Sipovik, and burnt down the house where the late Babic
had been and when they had set an anti-tank mine next to the house
of Vlado Babic. Fortunately all six members of Vlado Babic's family
survived.
Saric and Terzic demanded a thorough and quick investigation
of the terrorist act. The also demanded from the Canton government
and relevant ministries an urgent analysis of the security
situation in the Central Bosnian Canton.
Saric and Terzic reiterated that the canton had a special
system of administration based on the principle of parity. They
cautioned that further deterioration of the security situation
would be dangerous for the development of the canton and thus of
the Croat-Moslem Federation.
"We are determined to use all our strength and constitutional
powers in order that the political and security situation may be
stabilized and all perpetrators of terrorist and other criminal
acts may be brought to justice," Central Bosnian Canton Prefect and
Deputy Prefect said.
