ION ARCHIVE - BH DEFENSE MINISTER
SARAJEVO, Feb 21 (Hina) - Bosnian Federation Defence Minister Ante Jelavic
on Friday said that the request of the International Tribunal for War Crimes
for the delivery of additional documents in relation to the indictment
against Tihomil Blaskic was unjustifiably addressed to his name.
"Through deception of Bosnian representative at the Hague Tribunal,
Vasvija Vidovic, the subpoena is addressed to the Defence Ministry, even
though it should have been forwarded to the Federation's Central Archive,
which was established last year in June," Jelavic told a press conference in
Sarajevo.
He expected the court injunction to be dropped and that an agreement
be reached, such as the one between the Croatian Government and the Hague
Tribunal.
This case, Jelavic however pointed out, clearly showed what condition
the relations among the federal partners were in. "I wonder if such a
request would have ever been forwarded to the Defence Ministry had a Muslim
been in that office, that is would it be forwarded to the co-minister were I
to resign," Jelavic said.
