OSIJEK, Jan 28 (Hina) - A bus that transports Croatian policemen,
Croatian pension and disablement insurance company's employees and
Slavonska Bank clerks, on Tuesday was stoned for the second time at
Borovo Naselje, the eastern Croatian village under the control of
UNTAES.
In Osijek, Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Penic told
reporters about the incident, and a spokesman for the Transitional
Administration, Philip Arnold, confirmed the information to Hina.
No one sustained injuries, but the bus was damaged and several
windows of the office for issuance of Croatian documents were
broken, Arnold said adding that Croatian workers left the site of
the incident, escorted by the Russian UNTAES battalion troops.
The incident happened at about 11.45 hrs. Tuesday in front of
the local office for the Craotian documents' issuance at Borovo
Naselje, said a transitional police deputy superintendent, Ivan
Babic. The Croatian pension and disablement insurance company's
workers, Slavonska Bank clerks and Vukovar-Srijem County policemen
were in the office.
About 50 Serb extremists threw stones and other things at
Croatian workers. The Croatian workers suffered no injury but the
bus of a 'Panturist' company and the door of the local office were
considerably damaged, Babic added.
