ZAGREB, Jan 31 (Hina) - The Presidential Statement on the Croatian
Danubian area was one of the most important documents passed by the
UN Security Council relative to Croatia and to the benefit of
Croatia, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic said on Friday.
"The Security Council supports the holding of elections in the
Croatian Danubian area simultaneously with nationwide elections in
Croatia," Granic said in a Croatian TV news show on Friday evening.
"This means that a document has been passed that means
practically the end of the UNTAES mandate," he said.
"Now, we are sure that the peaceful reintegration process will
be completed on time, because the UNTAES mandate would surely not
be interrupted before the elections," he said.
