OSIJEK, Jan 13 (Hina) - The executive council of the Osijek-Baranja
displaced persons' association held a session in Osijek on Monday
to discuss the peaceful reintegration process in the Danubian area,
and elections scheduled for March 16.
At the session a leader of the association, Josip Kompanovic,
said that enabling all dislocated Serbs to vote for candidates and
lists in the Croatian Danubian area would mean "changing of the
demographic structure and an act in contrary to Croatian laws." He
added that such an election principle would seriously affect the
return of displaced people to their homes.
The session also decided that Mato Simic, the head of the
Croatian Displaced Persons' Association (ZPH), should convene a
session of the ZPH executive council by the end of this week in
order to prepare an extraordinary assembly of the Association, due
to be in the end of January.
