Transitional Administrator Jacques Klein forwarded a
letter to the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, in which he
described the Letter of Intent very positively.
Members of the Contact Group had reacted very positively
to the document, as well as other representatives of the
international community, the sources said.
Foreign policy aspects of the process of peaceful
reintegration of the Danube river region would be one of the
priorities of the Croatian diplomacy, the diplomatic sources
said.
Since it had been submitted to General Klein, the Letter
of Intent had become the subject of the widest Croatian
diplomatic action. It has been distributed within the Security
Council and among diplomats at the Organization for Security
and Organization in Europe (OSCE) and Croatian ambassadors are
to inform officials of countries in which they have been
accredited about the Letter.
