VINKOVCI, Jan 21 (Hina) - The exiled mayors of towns in UN-
administered eastern Croatia met in Vinkovci on Tuesday to discuss
the organization and conduct of local elections in the Danube
region scheduled for mid-March.
According to data from the Croatian Government Office for
Displaced Persons and Refugees, 64,080 displaced persons are
entitled to vote in the region.
Their transport to polling stations in towns and villages they
were expelled from will be organized and financed by the office.
The office estimates that another 10,000 expelled people, who
have not been registered as displaced persons by the office, have
the right to vote there.
Electoral rolls should be completed by February 28.
