SARAJEVO, Jan 3 (Hina) - NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana and
Commander of NATO military forces for Europe, George Joulwan,

Presidency that the NATO-led Stabilization Force (SFOR) would fully

agreement in the next 18 months. #L#
We told the members of the Bosnian Presidency that SFOR troops
would maintain a secure atmosphere in which it was possible to
implement the peace agreement, but we also warned them that the
responsibility for consolidating peace lay primarily on elected
politicians and every other person living in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Solana told a news conference in Sarajevo after the meeting.
Solana described the meeting with the members of the Bosnian
Presidency and two co-presidents of the Council of Ministers as
good, positive and useful.
Stressing that he was leaving Sarajevo with hope that events
would take a good course, Solana warned that difficult challenges
were expected this year, such as the return of refugees, the
apprehension of war criminals and holding municipal elections.
Solana confirmed that he had talked with the Presidency
members about the status of Brcko.
All three members had firmly pledged to fully respect the
arbitration decision which is to be reached by 15 February, Solana
said.
Commending the start of talks on the establishment of a
special police force which would search for war criminals in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Solana said that the special police force, if
established, would enjoy the full support of SFOR.
