ZAGREB, Oct 26 (Hina) - Croatia and the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina on Monday failed to reach agreement on the whole text of
a document on special relations and negotiations will continue on
Tuesday, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic said on Monday
evening.
The delegations of Croatia and BH Federation, led by Granic and
Kasim Trnka, advisor to the Bosniak member of the BH Presidency
Alija Izetbegovic, negotiated the agreement on special relations
all day today at the Croatian Foreign Ministry building.
The talks were also attended by a member of the Office of the High
Representative in BH, Jacques Klein, and US mediator Richard
Sklar.
At the end of the first day of talks, Granic told reporters that the
two sides had agreed on a large portion of the document on special
relations between Croatia and BH Federation and would try to
"harmonise" the rest on Tuesday.
We hope we will successfully complete the further adjusting of the
agreement tomorrow, he said.
Granic declined to say what the remaining contentious issues are,
respecting the agreement between the two delegations that no
statements on problematic issues be made until the talks are over.
Deputy High Representative in BH Jacques Klein said that 95% of the
document had been agreed on, adding he hoped that the talks would be
completed on Tuesday.
The atmosphere during the talks was one of cooperation, Klein said
adding the main goal was to find compromises which would be
acceptable to both sides.
