VUKOVAR, Oct 16 (Hina) - Serb MP Veselin Pejnovic and Danubian Serb
Party president Rade Leskovac on Friday called on all Serb
political and non-political organisations in Croatia to
reconciliation and unity.
"A group of Serbs in Croatia has allowed the ghettoisation of the
Serb Community, and paid a high price for it", Pejnovic told
reporters in Vukovar.
"Where such policy is leading can be best be seen in the schooling
system in the Danubian region. The point in question is the
ghettoisation and use of Serb children, i.e. an attempt towards
additionally straining relations with Croatian authorities".
Serbs in Croatia must become aware that the guarantee for their
stability, as well as for the stability of other minorities, is
linked with the stability of the Croatian majority, Pejnovic said. +
The Serb community has to work towards acknowledging Croatian
sovereignty and its belonging to the Croatian State, and should
also open up to all Croatian citizens.
Advocating the same orientation, Leskovac suggested all leading
Serb bodies in Croatia meet in Vukovar soon, to achieve at least a
minimum of unity on issues relevant to Serbian community in
Croatia.
