ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - Several human bones were discovered 40-
130cm below ground near a chapel in Zagreb on Saturday.
According to Zagreb police spokesman Josip Begovic, the bones near
St. Martin the Hermit's were discovered by workers of the Graditelj
construction company who were renovating the 13th century chapel in
the Zagreb district of Podsused.
The chapel had already undergone reconstruction in the 1930s.
According to first police reports, the unearthed bones are very old
and the site is most probably an accidentally discovered medieval
cemetery.
The present renovation works have been suspended until the site is
explored by experts of the Monuments Protection Institute and the
Archaeological Institute.
