SOTIN, Oct 7 (Hina) - Teams of the Government's Commission for
Imprisoned and Missing Persons on Wednesday began the exhumation of
a mass grave in Sotin, a village near Vukovar.
Five of so far eight found bodies were exhumed today, the
Commissioner, Captain Marko Milos, reported.
Test exhumations are under way on two more locations in the
vincinity of Sotin, for doubt that victims of Serbian aggression in
the Vukovar-Vinkovci region in 1991 are buried there.
The mass grave at Sotin, which is currently being exhumed, was
visited last month by Baroness Margaret Thatcher, former British
prime minister. Shocked by what she had seen, she emphasised that
the perpetrators of this and similar crimes had to be punished.
The exhumation of the mass grave at Sotin was continued after the
summer break and the exhumations in the Karlovac and Sisak
counties.
