ZAGREB, Oct 6 (Hina) - Argentina has consented to the extradition of
Nada Sakic to Croatia, and she will be transported to Croatia within
the next 30 days at the least, the Croatian Embassy in Argentina
said on Tuesday.
Nada Sakic will be investigated and tried before the Zagreb County
Court.
"The Croatian Embassy in Buenos Aires has received on October 6 a
final official statement by the Argentine foreign Ministry saying
that, in line with Resolution 3649 signed by Foreign Minister Guido
Di Tella on October 2, it has approved the extradition of Nada Sakic
to Croatia to be tried before the Zagreb County Court," the Croatian
Embassy said in the statement.
The Embassy's Charge d'Affaires, Ivo Radovic, told Hina on Tuesday
night that the resolution concluded the legal part of the process,
as far as Argentina is concerned.
President Menem, according to Radovic, is not obligated to sign the
consent as had been the case in the extradition of Dinko Sakic
(former commander of a concentration camp in the Independent State
of Croatia during World War II), which the Foreign Minister can do.
Nada Sakic, Dinko's wife, allegedly was in charge of a women's
concentration camp in Jasenovac at the same time.
