ZAGREB, Sept 27 (Hina) - Several days ahead of Pope John Paul II's
visit to Croatia, Apostolic Nuncio to Croatia, Giulio Einaudi,
forwarded a message to the Croatian people, stressing that the pope
is arriving in Croatia bearing wishes for forgiveness and
reconciliation.
I believe that the second visit of the Holy Father to Croatia will be
a confirmation of what the Holy Father has already stated to your
country during his first visit in September of 1994, which is his
wish for forgiveness, reconciliation, with respect for the
principles of the Christian faith, Einaudi said.
The Croatian Television (HTV) said Einaudi stressed that the Pope
was arriving in Croatia as the head of the Catholic Church, that is,
a religious body.
The Pope will forward to the Croatian people, the catholic Church
and all people, a message of stimulation of the Christian hope and
mutual love, Einaudi said.
This also applies to both the religious, and social and political
levels, because faith as such inspires man's conduct in society.
The Pope will forward a message to all the Croatian people about
moral principles, principles which must be followed for
coexistence, harmony in society, for the coexistence of all people,
he stressed.
