OFFICERS FROM CENTRAL EUROPEAN COUNTRIES VISIT CROATIA

( Editorial: --> 3492 ) ZAGREB, Sept 27 (Hina) - The presidency of the Gaminger Initiative, a union of officers associations from central Europe, held a working meeting in Zagreb on Sunday. The presidency is chaired by the Croatian Officer Corps. Over the past several days, officers from eight central European countries and special guests from the association of officers from NATO member-countries CIOR, visited high Croatian military and state institutions and held talks with numerous military and state officials. The Gaminger Initiative delegation also visited the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces' Main Headquarters as well as different Croatian Army institutions. They also paid a visit to Vukovar, the presidency's chairman Brigadier Tomo Jantol said. Speaking about today's meeting, German Lieutenant Armin Steinkamm reported that presidents of central European parliamentary committees for national security would meet in Switzerland on November 18 and 19. The president of the Parliament Committee for Interior Policy and National Security, Ivan Milas, accepted the invitation to attend the meeting. (hina) rml 271521 MET sep 98
