BELI MANASTIR, Aug 28 (Hina) - Simo Stupar of the Independent
Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) was unanimously elected as new mayor
of the eastern Croatian town of Beli Manastir on Friday.
Out of 26 members of the Town Council, 18 were present at Friday's
session, 10 members of the HDZ, one of the Croatian Party of Rights
(HSP) and seven of the SDSS.
Josip Kompanovic of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and Zoran
Ognjenovic (SDSS) were elected deputy mayors.
The newly elected town leaders said their work would focus on
solving problems crucial for life in Beli Manastir, of which there
is a plethora.
