BOROVO SELO, July 7 (Hina) - A US$275,000-worth newly-built
kindergarten was opened in Borovo Selo, eastern Croatia, on
Tuesday.
The kindergarten was opened by the head of the United Nations Civil
Police Support Group (UNPSG) and envoy of the UN Security Council
Secretary-General in Croatia Souren Seraydarian and the wife of the
U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Lynne Montgomery.
The building of the kindergarten was financed by the U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID) and organised by the UNSPG.
Envisaged for the accommodation of 120 children, the kindergarten
is one of 52 projects worth US$1.9 million which are implemented in
Croatia by the USAID and the UN, as part of the Democracy in Villages
programme.
Also present at today's opening was USAID's representative for
Croatia Skip Kissinger and the deputy chairman of the National
Trust Establishment Committee Vojislav Stanimirovic.
