SARAJEVO, July 3 (Hina) - A decision for at least 15 Bosnian Serb
police officers to be employed with the local police force in Drvar
(western Bosnia, under Croat control) has not been implemented,
because not one Serb who has returned to the town has applied for the
position.
United Nations spokesman Aleksandar Ivanko said in Sarajevo on
Friday that the police force in Drvar was still composed
exclusively of Bosnian Croats.
This was because the International Police Task Force (IPTF) had not
received one application by a Serb returnee for the police force.
However, Ivanko said he completely understood the Serbs in Drvar
and their unpreparedness to choose to do police work in the region.
