ZAGREB, June 30 (Hina) - The centre for the protection of human
rights of imprisoned and missing Croatian citizens and members of
their family, "Appeal" asked the international community to
provide assistance in the reconstruction of Vukovar, the eastern
Croatian city completely destroyed during the Serb aggression on
Croatia in 1991.
In an open letter sent to international community representatives
on behalf of some ninety participants of Sunday's second
international congress "Mothers for Peace", "Appeal" stressed the
importance of the reconstruction of Vukovar for the return of its
exiled residents of seven years.
The letter stresses that the return of displaced persons is the
precondition for lasting peace in the region.
"Appeal" also called on the international community to stop further
bloodshed in Kosovo, and to bring war criminals, including Slobodan
Milosevic, before the International Criminal Tribunal for the
Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague.
