GENEVA, June 2 (Hina) - James Purcell, General Director of the
International Organisation for Migration (IOM), is on Wednesday
leaving Geneva for a 10 day visit to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina
and the Federal Repulic of Yugoslavia said Croatian sources in
Geneva on Monday.
IOM is an independent international organisation, outside the
United Nations system.
IOM's activities in Croatia have been critically reported during
the past few days, especially regarding initiatives to move
Croatian refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina to other countries.
Purcell will visit all IOM offices in Zagreb, Sarajevo and
Belgrade.
Talks will be held with all three government representatives to
discuss the possibility of co-ordinating migration and the
cooperation with the IOM programme to calm the after affects of
forced migration and displacement in this part of Europe.
