CONSTRUCTION OF ITALIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL IN PULA COMMENCES

( Editorial: --> 3562 ) PULA, May 13 (Hina) - An Italian secondary school in Pula, on the Istrian peninsula, should be completed by 5 August 1999, it was said on Wednesday in Pula at a ceremony marking the commencement of construction. A foundation stone was placed by Italian President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro on 17 December last year. Investment in the school, worth five billion lira, has been contributed by the Italian Government and Croatia's Ministry for Education and Sport. The school is being built near the Italian primary school. "This is a great event for Pula and for members of the Italian community in this area," said president of the Italian Union Giuseppe Rota.
