PRISTINA, May 13 (Hina) - A meeting between Yugoslav President
Slobodan Milosevic and Democratic Alliance of Kosovo president
Ibrahim Rugova announced for May 15 has caused stormy reactions in
the south Yugoslav province.
The first Milosevic-Rugova meeting is taking place in very
difficult circumstances, Fehmi Agani told Hina Wednesday.
Agani is chief of the Kosovo Albanian G-15 negotiations group set up
to establish a political platform for resolving the Kosovo crisis
and for negotiations with Yugoslav authorities.
One of the most difficult he had to make, Rugova's decision to meet
with Milosevic was called for by attempts to find a peace-keeping
political solution to the Kosovo crisis which, Agani told Hina,
started becoming dramatic and threatening with serious
consequences.
Nothing spectacular or more than what a first meeting may offer
should be expected from the announced talks, Agani said.
The Milosevic-Rugova meeting will be the start of a process, the
first step toward decreasing tension in Kosovo, he concluded.
