ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - Spain is following the process of
reconstruction in Croatia with special interest and wishes to help
as much as possible, Spanish parliamentarian Jose Luis Lopez
Henares said in Zagreb on Monday.
Lopez Henares is heading a Spanish parliamentary delegation which
on Monday held talks with the House of Counties Speaker Katica
Ivanisevic.
We have come here to see developments of that process, not only as
Spaniards, but as Europeans, who are strongly interested in the
peace and security of this area, stressed Henares, who is the leader
of the delegation of the International Affairs Committee.
Henares is also the president of the Commission for Foreign Affairs
in the Spanish Senate.
Ivanisevic said that the Spanish delegation were informed of the
situation in Croatia, both during the war and today.
The Spanish delegation also held talks with members of the Croatian
parliament Foreign Policy Committee.
Reintegration of the Croatian Danube River region on January 15 was
not the answer to all problems, said Zarko Domljan, president of the
Foreign Policy Committee.
Along with physiological and social problems, which the
international community insists upon, one should also consider
financial, cultural, traffic and other problems, Domljan added.
This afternoon, members of the Spanish delegation will hold a
meeting with parliamentary party leaders and delegates from the
association of families of imprisoned and abducted Croatian war
veterans "Vukovar Mothers".
