SERBS ORGANISE TWO RALLIES NEAR SARAJEVO

( Editorial: --> 5564 ) SARAJEVO, April 8 (Hina) - A group of Bosnian Serbs gathered on the separation line between entities Wednesday to protest against the recent apprehension of several Bosnian Serbs by the Bosnian Federation police. About fifty civilians calling themselves members of a Bosnian Serb war veterans' organisation gathered on the road between Sarajevo and Lukavica Wednesday. They organised a rally called "Who's next" claiming that a 'man hunt' had begun in the Bosnian Federation. Stabilisation Force (SFOR) spokesman in Sarajevo, Louis Garneau confirmed Wednesday that a group of Bosnian Serbs had indeed gathered. They are again attempting to build a wall on the road between Sarajevo and Lukavica like they had attempted to build two months ago, Garneau said. A group of some fifty Serbs also protested in Lukavica, in the Bosnian Serb entity, but SFOR has not intervened so far and is just keeping the situation under control, leaving it for local authorities to solve the problems. The protesters requested the release of Goran Vasic, arrested by the Sarajevo police for allegedly killing the former deputy president of the Bosnia-Herzegovina government, Hakija Turajlic. They also requested the release of Milan Tepes, Branko Gigovic and Dragan Kremenovic, who had been apprehended as war crimes suspects. International Police Task force (IPTF) spokesman Liam McDowall stressed that the protesters would not be allowed to set up obstacles on the separation line between the entities, nor to hinder traffic.
