SARAJEVO, April 6 (Hina) - Shortly after 8pm on Monday the French
President Jacques Chirac arrived in Sarajevo for a two-day official
visit.
The French president and his entourage were welcomed by the three-
member Bosnian Presidency and Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic with
his deputies.
After a short welcome ceremony, Chirac visited the French Embassy
where he unveiled a plaque in memory of French soldiers killed in
the peace mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
During the evening, Chirac met members of the French community in
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Official talks will start early Tuesday morning.
Chirac is to hold separate meetings with the President of the
Bosnian Presidency Alija Izetbegovic and Presidency members
Kresimir Zubak and Momcilo Krajisnik.
The French president is also expected to meet Republika Srpska
President Biljana Plavsic.
Later in the afternoon, Chirac will visit Mostar.
This is the first visit of the French president to Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
