MILITARY EXERCISE TAKES PLACE ON ZIRJE ISLAND

( Editorial: --> 3121 ) ZIRJE, Mar 28 (Hina) - The Croatian Navy, the Croatian Air Force and sections of the land army Saturday held a military exercise on the island of Zirje called "Zirje 98". The exercise was performed in line with high NATO standards by 600 soldiers under the command of Commodore Ivica Tolic. According to retired United States General Richard Griffits, who leads a U.S. training course in the Croatian Army and who attended today's exercise, the exercise confirmed the outstanding skill and training of the Croatian navy and air force, and demonstrated the military preparedness of the Croatian soldier.
