ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa Saturday
held a press conference focusing on new Government appointments.
Member of the Croatian National Parliament's House of Counties
Bozidar Pugelnik has been appointed new minister of education and
sports, after Ljilja Vokic handed in her resignation on the said
office, while basketball player Andro Knego has been appointed
Pugelnik's assistant, replacing Mirko Novosel.
Administration Minister Davorin Mlakar has been appointed to a
diplomatic duty and his office will as of now be held by Marijan
Ramuscak, a member of the Parliament's House of Representatives.
Vice Premier Ljerka Mintas-Hodak will as of now also be the
Government's minister for European integrations.
Premier Matesa thanked Vokic, Mlakar and Novosel for their
contribution to the work of the Croatian Government, pointing out
the mentioned changes were part of the usual changes of office or
appointments to new duties.
Matesa denied reports in a Croatian daily which stated the premier
was to resign.
