POLICE ARRESTS A PIG SMUGGLER

( Editorial: --> 1486 ) SPLIT, Feb 12 (Hina)- On 10 February border police in the Split- Dalmatia county thwarted an unusual smuggling attempt. Namely, at the Jovica most border crossing with BH D.J. (32), driver of a Mercedes with registration plate KZ 722 F, ignored a request by the border police to produce his ID. Instead, D.J. drove towards the town of Imotski (100 kilometres east of Split), where he was arrested by the police. In his car D.J. had a live boar, whom he tried to smuggle into the country, stated today the Split-Dalmatia PD. The boar was confiscated and D.J. will be charged with a civil offence.
