US AMBASSADOR VISITS SDP HQ

( Editorial: --> 0928 ) ZAGREB, 10 Feb (Hina)- The US ambassador to Croatia William Montgomery met today leaders of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (the SDP), at the party's HQ in Zagreb. After a closed door meeting the US ambassador told the press he was "very happy" that the meeting took place. He added that the meeting dealt with some Croatian interior matters and the SDP's views about "some future issues", but he did not specify which. Ivica Racan, president of the SDP, also told the press he was very satisfied with the open exchange of views, "although it has not been organised in a proper diplomatic manner". Racan added that the SDP stressed it wanted to contribute to Croatia's fast integration into European integrations, especially NATO and the EU, as well as to good relations between Croatia and the USA.
