ALBANIAN OFFICIALS WARN ABOUT THE DANGEROUS SITUATION IN KOSOVO

( Editorial: --> 8953 ) TIRANA, 2 Feb (Hina) - If the conflict in Kosovo continues to escalate, the Albanian people will act as one united nation. But at the same time Tirana officials will do everything to prevent possible conflict, Albanian Foreign Ministry spokesman Sokol Gjoka told a press conference on Monday. Radio Tirana reported Albanian diplomats had assessed that the overall situation in Kosovo was greatly deteriorating. Serbian police and military forces were concentrating on Kosovo, which resulted in violence and repression against Kosovo Albanians under the pretext of fighting terrorism, the same source said. Albania officially warns how an escalation of conflicts in Kosovo would have incalculable consequences for other Balkan countries, Gjoka said. Albania as the mother country will support the legitimate demands of Kosovo Albanians and will do everything to establish constructive dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
