ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - The Croatian National Parliament House of
Representatives on Friday gave a vote of confidence to the Minister
of Croatian Homeland War Soldiers, Juraj Njavro, with 81 votes pro
and one in abstention.
Juraj Njavro was born on 2 July 1938 in Cerovica (Bosnia-
Herzegovina). He graduated from the Zagreb Faculty of Medicine. He
specialised in general practice. In 1991 he was the head of the army
medical corps.
From August 1992 to October 1993 he was the Health Minister, and
twice a government minister and MP.
President Tudjman appointed him Minister of Croatian Homeland War
Soldiers on 19 December 1997.
He is a member of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union party (HDZ).
