SARAJEVO, 26 Jan (Hina) - The former Bosnian Serb government has to
transfer all authority to its newly-elected replacement by the
middle of this week at the latest, Office of the High Representative
spokesman Duncan Bullivant said on Monday.
Bullivant also told a press conference that members of the new
government must take over their duties by the end of this week at the
latest.
If the handing over of power prolongs into next week, it would be a
reason for great concern, Bullivant said. He added that there was no
reason for the government transfer not to occur this week.
Asked whether the new Republika Srpska interior ministry would be
able to control police in the whole of the entity, UN spokesman
Aleksandar Ivanko replied that the International Police Task Force
(IPTF) did not expect any problems in the hand over of power to the
new ministry.
