ZAGREB, 15 Jan (Hina) - The book "Tempestuous Peace - A Chronology
of the Croatian Peace Mission on the Danube River" was launched in
Zagreb on Wednesday evening.
The book, published in Croatian and English, is a historical and
political publication, providing a chronology of events and
processes which led to the final reintegration of eastern Slavonia,
Baranja and western Sirmium into Croatia's political and legal
system.
The book was prepared by the President of the National Trust
Establishment Committee, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt, and her deputy Ivica
Vrkic.
The publication was launched by the President's Chief of Staff
Hrvoje Sarinic, Vice Premiers Ivica Kostovic and Jure Radic, UN
Transitional Administrator William Walker, Skare-Ozbolt and
Vrkic.
The launch of the book, which was published by "Narodne Novine", was
also attended by the U.N. under-secretary for peace operations
Bernard Miyet, Croatian high state officials, as well as
representatives of the diplomatic corps and U.N. Transitional
Administration in Eastern Slavonia (UNTAES).
