ZAGREB, 13 Jan (Hina) - The exhibition "Roman Glass From Croatia"
will open on 15 January in the recently restored Barberini Palace in
Rome.
The exhibition will be held under the auspices of Croatian
President Franjo Tudjman and Italian President Oscar Luigi
Scalfaro.
President Tudjman's representative, Culture Minister Bozo
Biskupic, will open the exhibition.
Those present at the opening ceremony will be addressed by Italy's
Vice Premier and minister for cultural property, Walter Veltroni.
The event will be organised by the Rome-based Institute for
Cultural Cooperation between Croatia and Italy.
The exhibition will present 256 glass exhibits from between the 1st
and the 4th century of the Roman period, 12 stone portraits, 47 gold
and silver coins and artefacts found in Dalmatia and Panonia.
Most of the artefacts are from the Archaeological Museum in Zadar,
and the rest are from the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and other
Croatian museums and private collections.
